The Forces Intervention Programme gives service personnel and veterans the opportunity to change abusive behaviour.

The course from Fear Free in Wiltshire also gives partners, children and affected others the opportunity to access support.

Consisting of both group and 1-2-1 sessions with specialist advisors the free course is available thanks to funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund.

Sally Stockham from the charity said:

"It's a behaviour change programme that predominantly helps people who are worried about their behaviour and if its becoming harming towards their loved ones.

Pressures like PTSD, postings and deployments can put extra pressure on military families, not to mention the impact this can have on children. There is never ever an excuse for harming your loved ones.

The overall outcome really is for everyone to have a healthy, happy and more respectful relationship."

She added:

"If anybody is thinking that they may need help, thinking my partner has said they want me to change as I'm not the same person that I use to be or the children are showing signs they are being emotionally impacted by what's going on, asking for help is an actual strength."

The course is available to regular and reserve serving personnel and veterans who live and work in Wiltshire, you can find out more on how you can get support on the Fear Free website.
