Wiltshire Council is urging people to prepare for the nationwide ban on disposable vapes which comes into effect this weekend.
The ban - which will see single-use vapes being fully prohibited form being supplied or sold - will come into force on Sunday (June 1st).
England, Scotland and Wales will be mandated to get rid of disposable vapes - meaning that vapes can only be sold if they are reusable or rechargeable, according to new environment laws.
Wiltshire Council are now asking people using single-use vapes to prepare for the upcoming restrictions by buying a reusable one in order to maintain their habit.
Vaping has been proven to help adult smokers to quit the action altogether, thanks to their less harmful effects on the body - although the practice is still not risk-free.
The Council added that it will be working together with police to crack down on illegal vape sales across the county by closing down shops that are caught selling them.
Speaking on the upcoming guidance, Kate Blackburn from the Council's health department, said that while the new rules will reduce the number of children using vapes, adults should still be able to have a variety of different options.
"Smoking is the leading cause of preventable illness and death in England, killing two out of three smokers," she explained.
"In Wiltshire, we are committed to ending the harm caused by tobacco and creating a smokefree county.
“Our message to adults who smoke is: the evidence is clear that vaping using UK regulated devices and liquids is less harmful than smoking in the short to medium term. Although vapes are not risk free, they are one of the most effective tools available to help adults quit tobacco use.
"If you are thinking about stopping smoking, there are a range of options to help you quit for good.”
