Wiltshire Council fix nearly 200 potholes in a week

They're working hard to clear a backlog of jobs

Highways teams at Wiltshire Council have managed to fill nearly 200 potholes in just a week - but there's plenty more to sort.

The authority tell us 198 defects were fixed between the 7th and 13th of August alone.

But during the same time period, 169 new potholes were reported to Wiltshire Council.

They've said every report is assessed by an engineer, and prioritised based on their defect criteria.

That might mean some potholes are deemed to not need repairs, and others might not meet the criteria to get a team on site.

The reports are then worked through in priority order, with the aim of clearing the backlog.

We're asked to keep reporting any road defects using the MyWilts system.
