Wiltshire Council's leisure centres will reopen next week
The authority's confirmed what they're doing at sites across the county once lockdown ends.
Last updated 25th Nov 2020
Leisure centres across the county shut on Thursday 5th November for Lockdown 2, but Wiltshire Council's now said they'll be reopening on Thursday 3rd December, following Government guidelines.
That includes sites at Salisbury's Five Rivers, Tisbury's Nadder Centre, The Vale at Pewsey, Durrington Swimming and Fitness Centre, and Tidworth Leisure Centre.
Amesbury Sports and Community Centre will also reopen on the same date - which will be first time they've been open since March.
Safety measures will be in place at each site to maintain social distancing and enhanced hygiene throughout.
The authority say the health and safety of customers and staff is the priority.
Opening hours for all sites are available on the Wiltshire Council website.
WHAT ABOUT MEMBERSHIPS?
Wiltshire Council say they will process the December direct debits as normal, but it will include an additional fee to cover the 3rd and 4th of December, which would ordinarily have been collected in November.
Payments will revert to normal for January.
Members will get a letter or email to let them know the amount being taken.
Annual memberships will be extended for one month to account for the closure they've faced.
Swimming lessons will be back too - using the same timetable as before the latest lockdown.
There'll be a break for Christmas as normal, between Monday 21st December and Sunday 3rd January.
Gymnastics lessons will continue at Five Rivers from Thursday 3rd December as they were before Lockdown 2, and start at Tidworth on Tuesday 8th December.
