This will be the fourth virtual public meeting that's been held by Wiltshire Council, to give us the latest local information about the Covid-19 pandemic and how the authority is responding.

It's being held from 7.00pm on Wednesday 27th January, via Microsoft Teams.

It's also an opportunity for us to ask questions, with residents welcome to submit them to the Council before 5.00pm on Monday (25th January) by emailing communications@wiltshire.gov.uk

WHO CAN WE HEAR FROM?

The meeting will be hosted by the leader of Wiltshire Council, Philip Whitehead, along with Chief Executive of the authority, Terence Herbert and Director of Public Health, Kate Blackburn.

They'll also be joined by Wiltshire Council's Corporate Director of Resources, Andy Brown, to talk through the draft budget plan for the 2021/22 financial year and how the council plans to recover from the pandemic.

Gill May, Director of Nursing and Quality for the Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire CCG, will be part of the meeting to give an update on the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccination locally.

Ahead of the meeting, she's said:

"The vaccination rollout is a fast-moving project and I know that many people have questions, especially about when they can expect to receive the vaccine.

"While we can't say exactly when each and every person will be vaccinated, what we can say is that all our community-based vaccination sites are now up and running.

"We have already offered the vaccine to thousands of local people who are included within the priority groups outlined by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, such as those over 80, health and care workers and care home residents, and we will be informed very soon of when we can begin vaccinating further."

Salisbury Cathedral has been a vaccination centre since January

Cllr Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said:

"There is a lot of information out there to navigate through, and we're pleased that we can help provide some clarity using these public broadcasts.

"With the vaccine rollout now underway across Wiltshire and the publication of our draft budget, there continues to be plenty of important information to update people on.

"I ask that people send in their questions ahead of the broadcast to help us try to make sure the session covers what they would like to know so everyone gets the most out of the session."

If you can't make the meeting live, you will be able to find it on the Wiltshire Council YouTube channel afterwards.
