Wiltshire Connect bus tickets will cost just ÂŁ1

There's a push being made to get more people on Wiltshire buses at weekends.

The council's offering cheaper tickets on it's bookable Wiltshire Connect service, which operates in the Pewsey Vale and Marlborough area.

It's available every Saturday throughout April, just by entering the code SAT24 in the Wiltshire Connect booking app when buying a ticket.

The service is different from a classic bus service.

Wiltshire Connect vehicles operate on a pre-bookable, on-demand basis, allowing you to travel between any designated pick-up and drop-off point within each zone.

You can travel between any location within the three operating zones, Pewsey Vale, Marlborough and Great Bedwyn, and Marlborough and Hungerford.

Cllr Tamara Reay, Cabinet Member for Transport, said:

“Wiltshire Connect has been a fantastic success so far, with more than 27,000 passengers using the service, and more than 5,000 people downloading the easy-to-use smartphone app. It's really easy for people of all ages to book their bus journey on the smartphone app, or by calling our dedicated phone line, up to seven days before they wish to travel or with as little as 30 minutes' notice.

“We have committed to having vibrant, well-connected communities with improved rural bus links in our Business Plan, and Wiltshire Connect does just this. The £1 offer for all rides booked on Saturday means that our residents in rural areas can travel for a very cheap price, which will no doubt help them to feel more connected to their local communities.”
