Wiltshire case rate above the national average as Covid numbers increase

90% of the eligible population have received one vaccine

The number of Covid cases in Wiltshire are on the rise again, with the case rate per 100,000 people well above the national average.

The latest data from the government shows that in the seven days to March 9th there 3,401 cases recorded in the county.

That's an increase of 76.5%, from the previous week.

It gives Wiltshire a case rate of 6747.7, compared to the average in England of 502.4.

The highest case rate is in the 40-44 age group, with the majority of positives being identified by LFD tests.

HOW MANY HAVE TAKEN UP THE VACCINES?

In Wiltshire, there has been a total of 1,161,239 vaccinations administered, as of the 13th March.

Of those aged 12 and over, 90.2% of the population has received at least one jab.

72.2% have got all three.

That's higher than the national and South West averages.
