Wilton Rotary Club say many of us will be reflecting on the past year this Christmas, with the Covid-19 pandemic still with us.

They're hoping to support those who may have been isolated for much of 2020, as well as those facing additional hardships because of the crisis.

A fundraiser's been launched for us to remember a loved one by 'sponsoring a memory' to go into an online Book of Remembrance for people in Wilton and the surrounding area.

All the money raised will go towards supporting others in the Wilton community who have been impacted by the pandemic the most.

More than ÂŁ640 has been raised so far, just over a week after the scheme launched.

We can support the fund by filling in the forms at Wilton Hardware and Reeve the Baker in the town, or by visiting the Wilton Rotary Virgin Money Giving page directly.

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN

Some of the fundraising is also going towards arranging special visits to Wilton and Quidhampton by Father Christmas himself.

He'll be spreading some festive cheer each Saturday in December before the big day

His first visit will be this evening (Saturday 5th December) between 5.00 and 7.00pm.

Santa will travel around Wilton on his sleigh for families to see, with social distancing measures in place.
