Thieves have tried to steal a van in Ludgershall, by using a 'wiggle key' to attempt entry to a Ford Transit.

The incident happened on Recreation Road at around 4.00am on Sunday 2nd April, with details just released by Wiltshire Police.

A 'wiggle key' is a device similar to a lockpick, used to try and bypass the genuine key entry.

The owner of the vehicle was alerted to the attempted theft when the alarm went off.

The suspects then left the scene in a white Volkswagen Polo, but it's not known how many there were, or any descriptions.
