Do you know who to contact when there's storm damage in Wiltshire?

The high winds and poor weather brought by Storm Barra today could cause damage across Wiltshire.

But if you come across a fallen tree or a flooded area, do you know who you're supposed to call to sort it.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service have released a list of who Wiltshire residents should contact in different scenarios:

WHEN TO CONTACT DWFRS ON 999:

  • Fallen tree on a road, endangering life
  • Fallen tree on own property, endangering life
  • Unsafe structure overhanging a public highway
  • Unsafe structure overhanging own property, endangering life
  • Flooding with life risk
  • Flooding affecting electrics - if possible, isolate the electrics

WHEN TO CONTACT WILTSHIRE COUNCIL - CALL 0300 456 0105 OR** REPORT ONLINE:**

  • Fallen tree on a road, not endangering life
A previous storm caused damage in Queen Elizabeth Gardens

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Fallen tree on own property, not endangering life
  • Unsafe structure on own property, not endangering life

For general flooding, only call emergency services if there is a risk to life or you have no way of protecting your property yourself.

There is a yellow weather warning in place until midnight tonight for wind.

The Met Office are telling people to expect delays on roads and train services and possible short term loss of power.

Network Rail are urging people to check before they travel on trains.
