STORM EUNICE: Which Wiltshire services have been stopped?

The weather warning has forced many closures

Due to Storm Eunice and the high winds it brings with it, many services across Wiltshire will not be running as usual today (Friday 18th February).

This page will be updated as changes are made.

HOUSEHOLD RECYCLING CENTRES

Wiltshire Council have announced that all HRC's across the county have been shut due to the adverse weather conditions.

This includes Amesbury, Warminster and Melksham.

LIBRARIES

The local authority have taken the decision to close all libraries in Wiltshire today.

People are being urged to only travel if it is necessary.

WASTE COLLECTIONS

Bin collections are still going ahead as normal.

However, that situation is being monitored and could change.

The strike's been causing disruption for households, with recycling collections stopped until the week of March 21st

SCHOOLS

All schools and early years settings in Wiltshire have been advised to close today.

Parts of the county are in the red weather warning area, which means a significant danger to life.

ATTRACTIONS

Most visitor attractions are shut to the public today.

This includes Stonehenge, Old Sarum, Longleat, Marwell Zoo, Stourhead and Salisbury Cathedral.

BUSES

There's some good news from Salisbury Reds, who have started to resume some services which were suspended earlier.

They've said the following routes will be running:

Stagecoach South also say they are planning to resume some services from 5.30pm this evening (Friday 18th February).

TRAINS

South Western Railway have announced they have suspended all of their services for the time being.

Trees have come down on multiple routes across the network.

This includes in Dean which has blocked the line between Salisbury and Romsey.

WILTSHIRE CREATIVE

Wiltshire Creative have announced that all of their sites have been closed today.

That includes Salisbury Playhouse and Salisbury Arts Centre.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SEE A TREE DOWN

If you spot a tree down during the storm, you should not report it to police or the fire service.

You should report it via Wiltshire Council's website or MyWilts app so they can help get the situation sorted.

If there is someone in immediate danger then call 999.
