West Wellow village in Hampshire has been left without phone signal since the middle of August.

Residents have been forced to find alternative locations to make phone calls thanks to phone mast works that locals weren’t notified about.

National Grid have been carrying out maintenance work in the area since 15th August.

The area’s main provider is Vodafone.

“We’re sorry to any of our customers who are affected,” Vodafone said in a statement, adding: “Customers can register for our Network Status Checker to be notified about unexpected issues and planned maintenance works that can affect our mobile network.”

An O2 spokesperson said:

“We apologise to customers in the West Wellow area who may experience intermittent issues with their calls, texts and data while National Grid carry out works in the area.

"A nearby phone mast has been switched off whilst these works are completed for safety reasons. We aim to restore services as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience this causes.”
