No plans for hosepipe ban in Wiltshire, despite "below average" water levels
A third heat wave in four weeks is hitting the UK this weekend
Wessex Water says there a no plans for a hosepipe ban in Wiltshire as the third heat wave in four weeks hits the UK.
It comes as the first ban of the year comes into action in Yorkshire from today.
The water company tells us the wet winter means groundwater and reservoir levels aren't causing any concerns, despite being at below average levels.
The company hasn't issued a hosepipe ban since 1976.
It stressed that customers should still use water "responsibly" saying "it keeps more in the environment and can save money for households on a meter.”
Advice on water-saving can be found on the Wessex Water website.
Heat health alerts are in place across the country from the UKHSA, with parts of Wiltshire predicted to be subjected to 33 degree heat, according to the Met Office.
