Staff from Salisbury's water supplier have given up their time to support a local charity with some vital manpower.

Wessex Water employees have been taking on tasks at Alabaré's Old Sarum Garden Centre.

Wessex Water staff have been working on site at the Old Sarum Garden Centre for Alabaré

They've been building picnic tables, creating compost bins and constructing leaf pens for the site on The Portway.

The centre gives adults with learning disabilities a chance to get hands on with horticulture.

That build their confidence and can even help some of them into employment elsewhere.

One member of the Wessex Water team said:

"It was a very rewarding day for all involved. We could see what it meant to the team at Alabaré."

The charity's garden centre is open to the public five days a week, with plants, shrubs, seeds and hanging baskets on sale, as well as an on-site café.

We can drop in Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 4.00pm.
