Warning from Salisbury Police to look after bags this summer
Officers spotted 'several easy targets' for potential thieves this weekend
Police in Salisbury are calling on locals and visitors to protect themselves from thieves in the city centre this summer.
Officers out on foot patrol over the weekend say they spotted 'several' bags left unattended.
They've warned they could be 'easy targets' for opportunistic thieves operating within Salisbury.
In a social media post, officers said:
"Please remember that even though Salisbury is a lovely and generally safe place to live there are still criminals out there who are looking for opportunities.
"While out and about we saw several bags that were not attended and could have presented an easy target for thieves.
"Please remember to keep all your possessions close by, ensuring that rucksacks, purses are not a tempting target for opportunistic criminals."
