Warning over rogue traders targeting council houses in Salisbury

The local authority says it's been made aware of rogue traders operating in Bemerton Heath and other locations in Salisbury offering gutter cleaning but then charging very high prices.

It offered this advice in a post on social media.

"All Wiltshire Council tradesman and staff visiting your property will always have ID and we advise you to check before you allow entry or for any work to be carried out that they are from the Council. Blocked gutters and downpipes are cleared as part of our repairs service and you would not be charged for this work."
