The second part of refurbishment work at Warminster Sports Centre has been completed, with a new multi-purpose studio opening it's doors.

The space fills the void left by moving the gym area downstairs, which reopened in March.

The studio boosts the centres offer of fitness classes, with the addition of kitchen facilities meaning it can also be hired by community groups, for meetings and for children's parties.

A new group exercise programme has also been launched, including classes such as DanceFit, Ultimate Pump and Yin Yoga plus additional Studio Cycle classes.

Class sizes are now bigger while the virtual class studio system has been upgraded too, in order to provide users as much choice and flexibility.

Cllr Mel Jacob, Cabinet Member for Communities, Engagement and Corporate Services, said: "We hope that the Warminster Sports Centre members have already taken advantage of the more modern and accessible, gym facilities at the centre.

"With the works now complete in the new studio space, our exercise class customers will also be able to enjoy the benefits of the changes, and we look forward to increasing our class sizes and offering an exciting new fitness timetable. With the area being multi-purpose, we are also hoping to accommodate more community groups and meetings at the centre.

"The final phase of works will see an upgrade to some of the changing rooms, and we will provide more of an update on those works in due course. We thank our loyal customers for their ongoing patience while these works have been carried out."
