More than 500 people have already signed up to this year's Walk for Wards for the Stars Appeal.

The charity at Salisbury District Hospital say event packs are now on their way out to those due to take part at Wilton House on Sunday 7th July.

Hundreds of people are expected to take part in the Stars Appeal's flagship fundraiser in July

Walkers taking on the 3K, 5K or 10K routes around the stately home's grounds can choose which ward or department they want to support.

Last year's event raised nearly £160,000 to support activities, and fund equipment around the hospital.

A record-breaking amount was raised for the Salisbury District Hospital charity through last year's Walk for Wards

The Stars Appeal aims to raise £1 million a year for things over and above what the NHS is able to provide.

That includes things like the free Wi-Fi around the site, the chaplaincy service, water coolers as well as kit like ultrasound machines for the Acute Medical Unit, a mechanical CPR machine and specialist cots for newborn babies.

The event packs being sent out now contain sponsorship forms, fundraising details and signs to wear on the day that walkers can personalise to explain why they're taking part, and which department at Salisbury District Hospital they're supporting.

Sign-ups for Walk for Wards 2024 are still open, through the Stars Appeal website.
