Walk for Wards passes 1,000 sign ups ahead of 20th event
The Stars Appeal event helps support Salisbury District Hospital
Over a thousand people have signed up to participate in the Stars Appeals biggest annual event, Walk for Wards.
But the charity is aiming to surpass the 2,000 sign up's mark ahead of this year's 20th staging of the event.
Walk for Wards takes place on Sunday 6th July at Wilton House, with walkers choosing a 3k, 5k, 10k, or 15k route to walk for a chosen ward or department at Salisbury District Hospital.
Stars Appeal Ambassador and Consultant Surgeon Graham Branagan said: “We are absolutely thrilled that we already have 1,000 people signed up. However, we need more to hit our 2,000 walker target to ensure we can raise as much money for the hospital as possible. So I’d encourage everyone reading this to sign up today and join us for what is a fantastic celebration at Wilton House on the 6th of July.”
The event raises money to support projects funded by the Stars Appeal including state-of-the-art equipment, enhancements to buildings, and the charity’s ongoing projects like the Stars Appeal Wi-Fi and support for people with cancer.
