Police have been carrying out proactive patrols on the Wiltshire Hampshire border, in an effort to prevent rural burglaries.

Officers have also been targeting the illegal use of roads and unsafe vehicles, in the Woodgreen area.

During checks on Thursday night (25th April), a van was spotted speeding along Moot Lane towards Downton, and was uninsured.

The vehicle was seized for being driven without valid insurance.

In a post on social media, Fordingbridge Police said:

"Protecting vulnerable communities and making New Forest roads safer for everyone are priorities for New Forest neighbourhood policing teams, with our working closely with colleagues in Dorset and Wiltshire to target cross border offending."

We're asked to report illegal use of vehicles, or people driving carelessly, as well as incidents of rural burglaries, by calling 101.
