A teenager has been arrested after a Salisbury secondary school was forced to close today (Wednesday 10th January) when a threatening email was received.

Staff and pupils at Wyvern St Edmund's school in Laverstock have stayed away 'as a precautionary measure'.

Wiltshire Police tell us a 15 year old boy is in police custody, arrested on suspicion of communicating false information.

They've also said there's 'no ongoing threat to pupils or staff at the school'.

All other schools on the Laverstock campus remained open as normal.

Officers will be on the school site tomorrow (Thursday 11th January) to provide reassurance to those attending.
