An unoccupied property in Amesbury has been "professionally secured" after becoming a hot spot for anti social behaviour.

The house in Allington Way has stood empty for a number of years, and there have been recent problems regarding groups of young people gaining entry to the site and causing issues.

Amesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team says the building had become the focal point for vandalism and anti-social behaviour.

PCSO Mark Douse, who has been carrying out work with his colleague PC Emma Smith, said:

“Not only has this activity caused a nuisance for local people, but the site itself is unsafe and potentially dangerous for these young people who have been gaining access.

“We have worked with the relevant stakeholders, including the owner of the site, to ensure that it is now professionally secured, preventing any further unauthorised access.”

Police are urging people to report any anti-social behaviour or vandalism to by calling 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress.

It can also be reported online via the Wiltshire Police website.
