Two women assaulted in front of child in Salisbury

Police want to trace a driver who stopped to help on Westwood Road

Two women have been assaulted in front of a young child in the Bemerton Heath area of Salisbury.

Police say a man put a woman over his shoulder and threw her to the ground in Westwood Road, at the junction of Rambridge Crescent.

When her friend tried to help, she was then grabbed by the neck and thrown into a bush.

One of the victims was taken to hospital.

It happened at around 9.30pm on March 18th, but the details have only just been released, along with the witness appeal.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault, harrassment and controlling/coercive behaviour and released on bail.

Police want to trace a driver who stopped to help the women involved.

They also want to hear from any other witnesses or those with information about what happened.
