COVID-19: Nearly two thirds of Wiltshire population now double jabbed

Over 6,500 16-25 year olds are fully protected

NHS data has shown that nearly two thirds of the Wiltshire population have now received both doses of their Covid-19 vaccine.

As of June 26th, 261,447 people are double jabbed, which is around 64% of those aged 16 and over in the county, based on the latest population estimates from ONS.

Those aged 75 and over, residents in care homes as well as anyone over the age of five who is immunosuppressed are among the cohort who will be offered a further booster

Over 6,500 of those numbers are also people aged between 16 and 25 to get both vaccines.

Meanwhile, over 85% of those aged 16 and over have had one jab in Wiltshire.

Areas with the highest coverage:

1) Bradford-on-Avon, with 91.2% of people aged 16 and over given their first dose

2) Cricklade and Ashton Keynes, 90.6%

3) Dilton Marsh and Bratton, 90.1%

Areas with the lowest coverage:

1) Trowbridge North, 76%

2) Tidworth and Ludgershall, 76.2%

3) Trowbridge West, 77.2%

Across England, 27.3 million people had received a second dose of the jab by June 26th.

In total, over 35.9 million people had received at least one dose of a vaccine by the same date, covering 79% of people over 16.

LATEST CASE FIGURES

In the seven days to 22nd June, there have been 349 positive cases in Wiltshire.

That's a increase of 142 on the previous week.

This means the county's rolling rate per 100,000 population is at 69.8.

The national average is 119.5.
