A pair of popular stores in Salisbury have confirmed they're closing in January.

Smyths Toys and Homesense have told Greatest Hits Radio that they will be leaving their spaces in the Churchill Way Retail Park.

The stores will be replaced by Lidl, which has submitted plans for a second store in the city, in addition to their store on Southampton Road.

In a statement, Smyths said: "It is with deep regret that we announce the closure of our Smyths Toys Superstores location in Salisbury, effective January 2025.

"We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff and loyal customers who have supported us over the years.

"We understand the impact this may have on the community and will do everything possible to ensure a smooth transition for our employees."

Homesense confirmed while that store is closing TK Maxx in the Cross Keys Centre will remain 'untouched'.

Neither brand said it would be relocating to another space within the city.
