For the next two months, we can expect some overnight disruption on the A36 between St Paul's Roundabout and Bourne Way Roundabout in Salisbury.

From tonight (Monday 17th May) until the 14th July resurfacing works will be taking place on week days and carried out in phases.

It means that there will be overnight road closures Monday to Friday between 8pm and 6am.

Highways England are going to be replacing the current road with a new, low-noise surface to provide long-term noise reduction for residents living close to the A36.

The road will be shut from the roundabout outside St Paul's Church to Bourne Way roundabout

CLOSURE SCHEDULE

Here are all the closures expected over the next two months:

Monday 17th to Friday 21st May: Southbound closure between St Paul's and Castle roundabouts.

Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th May: Southbound and northbound closure between St Paul's and Castle roundabouts.

Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th May: Northbound closure between Castle and St Paul's roundabouts.

Tuesday 1st June: Southbound closure between Castle and St Mark's roundabouts.

Wednesday 2nd June: Northbound closure between Castle and St Paul's roundabouts.

Thursday 3rd June: Southbound closure between Castle and St Mark's roundabouts.

Friday 4th to Tuesday 8th June: Southbound and northbound closure between Castle and St Mark's roundabouts.

Wednesday 9th to Tuesday 15th June: Full closure between Castle and College roundabouts including St Mark's roundabout.

Wednesday 23rd June to Thursday 1st July: Northbound closure from College to St Mark's roundabouts.

Friday 2nd and Monday 5th July: Full closure of College roundabout. Closure points at St Mark's roundabout, Exeter Street roundabout and Tollgate Road.

Tuesday 6th to Tuesday 13th July: Southbound and northbound closure between College and Bourne Way roundabouts.

For closures south of College Roundabout, the diversion will be to use the A338 from the roundabout to Ringwood, then A31 eastbound to Ower.

It will be the reverse for northbound traffic.

Meanwhile, for any closures north of College Roundabout the southbound diversion will be back to Quidhampton traffic signals, south on the A3094 to the A338 re-joining at College Roundabout.

Again, the northbound diversion will be the opposite.

Highways England says the diversion routes will be clearly signed.
