Police were called by staff at Salisbury District Hospital around 5.45 am today (1st August) after two patients were admitted with serious injuries.

The pair, both men, made their own way to A&E and officers believe they may have been involved in a crash on Salisbury Plain and are appealing for the public's help.

It's thought they were travelling in a smaller 4x4 and that the collision happened occurred somewhere on the south eastern part of Salisbury Plain, possibly near the Bulford area.

Searches are taking place in the area.

Sergeant Alanna Wakeford, from the Amesbury Community Policing Team, said:

“We are working hard to understand more about the circumstances which led to these two men being injured, and have already started carrying out searches of the local area.

“However, this is a large search area and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, such as a potential crash site or an abandoned vehicle, to please get in touch.

“We believe the men may have been travelling in a smaller 4x4 type vehicle, possibly a Suzuki, so we are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen this vehicle.”

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting log 46 of today (1st August).
