Pair charged after reports of hare coursing in Ludgershall

They'll appear in court in February

Two people have been charged with rural crime offences in connection with hare coursing near Ludgershall last summer.

The incident happened in a field near the A342 on 1st August around 8:30pm last year.

Michael Bower, 26, of Botley Road, Southampton and a teenage boy from Patchway, Bristol, were charged with being equipped to trespass with the intention of using a dog to search for or pursue a hare under S64 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 and hunting a mammal with dogs under S1 Hunting Act 2004.

The pair were arrested by Salisbury response officers.

Both are set to appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court on 7th February.
