Two men arrested following Southampton Road shoplifting reports

Around 150 suspected stolen items were by police in a car

Two men have been arrested in Salisbury, following reports of shoplifting from stores along Southampton Road.

Police were told of three people stealing items from businesses at around 4.00pm on Thursday (1st February).

Officers stopped a car that the suspects were using.

They ran away, but two were caught and arrested on suspicion of theft.

Around 150 suspected stolen items, collectively worth up to £2,700, were recovered.

Most have been returned to the stores.

A man in his 20s and another in his 30s have since been bailed while enquiries continue.
