Two arrested following Wiltshire and Dorset police operation
Officers have been investigating rural break-ins in both counties
Two people have been arrested, following an operation by Wiltshire Police and Dorset's Rural Crime Team.
Officers stopped a vehicle in Downton on Saturday (5th April).
A 24 year old man driving the car, and his 19 year old passenger were arrested on suspicion of attempted theft, theft of tools, possession of an offensive weapon and driving without valid insurance.
One of them was also arrested for failing to appear in court.
The vehicle's also been seized by officers.
It's all part of an investigation into a series of break-ins across rural areas of South Wiltshire and North Dorset.
Salisbury PCSO Murray said: “This is a great example of how police forces work together and will target anyone who is trying to cross borders to carry out offences.
"If you see anything suspicious or want to let us know about any concerns, we'd urge you to contact us on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
"We recognise that it may be something small and you are unsure if it may be relevant, but we rely on the public's support and information to build a picture of what is happening in your community. We use this information to prevent crime and identify offenders.”
