A TV sandwich expert and chef has announced that he has bought a pub in Salisbury.

Max Halley was appearing via a video call on Sunday Brunch yesterday when he confirmed that he was taking over the Five Bells "boozer" on Salt Lane.

He currently owns a sandwich shop in London, but has now expanded his business ventures into the Wiltshire city.

Speaking to hosts Tim Lovejoy and Miquita Oliver, Max said:

"This is the biggest news in my life at the moment - I have bought a boozer in Salisbury and I'm going to put a speedboat in the garden.

"We're going to have it in the garden and let people have a pint sitting in the speedboat in the pub garden."

Max says he is going to get the speedboat from one of his friends, who has the actual one from the set of Bullseye.

The new owner also confirmed that the name will remain he in place.

He said it's "sacrilege" to rename a pub.

Max didn't say when he will officially takeover the premises.
