Thousands of pounds of gardening equipment and bikes have been stolen from three homes in the Redlynch area.

Police are investigating the thefts and are encouraging home owners in the area to check their security arrangements and to be vigilant.

The three homes were targeted by thieves overnight on Thursday last week (September 19th) into the early hours of Friday (September 20th).

All the incidents were in rural and remote locations with barns and outbuildings.

It's thought those responsible travelled in a black Ford Transit van to Redlynch via Downton, before returning to Hampshire via West Wellow.

Officer patrols of the area have been increased and Wiltshire Police is working with their Hampshire counterparts to carry out enquiries.
