Trial date set for man accused of murdering motorcyclist in Dinton

A man accused of murdering a motorcyclist in Wiltshire will stand trial in January.

43 year old Paul Barrett, of White Road, Mere is accused of killing Ryan Brindley, 43, from Amesbury.

Mr Brindley died after his motorcycle was in collision with a Volkswagen Touran on Hindon Road in Dinton near the Wyndham Arms on December 22nd last year.

During a preliminary hearing at Winchester Crown Court which the defendant did not attend, the judge, Mr Justice Choudhury, set a trial date of January 23rd 2023.

He remanded Barrett in custody until a pre-trial review hearing on November 18th.

Mr Brindley's family said in a statement released after his death:

"Ryan was a unique, one-of-a-kind man who was loved by so many and will never be forgotten."
