Supporters trek Winchester to Salisbury for children's hospice

The 'historic trail' hike is raising funds for Naomi House & Jacksplace

Published 12th Sep 2021

The 15th annual Clarendon Way Walk in aid of children's hospice Naomi House & Jacksplace takes place today (Sunday 12 Sept 2021).

The challenge will see walkers follow an ancient route from Winchester Cathedral to Salisbury Cathedral raising much needed funds for the charity

Alongside the classic 26 mile route across watermeadows and chalk grasslands there's a 12 mile route which begins in the village of Broughton.

Some supporters will be going the extra mile too as for the first time there's an Ultimate Clarendon- a 52 mile walk thorugh the night.

Particpants in that event started off at dusk last night from Salisbury Cathedral to reach the start line in Winchester.

VITAL FUNDS

Last year's event raised a staggering £87,000 for the charity which like many others has been hit hard by the impact of the Covid pandemic.

SUPPORT FROM SHERIFFS

Among those taking part this year are the High Sheriffs of Wiltshire and Hampshire.

Last month the pair visited the charity near Stockbridge in full traditional dress, including swords!
