A tree in a Salisbury communal gardens needs to be cut down for safety reasons.

An inspection by Wiltshire Council structural engineers found the tree on the riverbank at Millstream Approach needs to be removed.

Salisbury City Council will carry out the work this week (from Monday 18th March).

It's to prevent further damage to a retaining wall and nearby properties.

We're told the stump won't be completely removed once the tree's felled - as that could cause further problems.

That'll be addressed later in the year.
