Travel disruption expected until Tuesday as second carriage removed following Salisbury train crash

Network Rail hope to remove them all by the end of the weekend

A second carriage has been removed from the South Western Railway train involved in the Salisbury crash.

Network rail are expecting more travel disruptions, which means London Road will remain closed to pedestrians and vehicles until Tuesday 9th November, when they expect to open the road in both directions.

They hope to remove all of the train carriages by the end of the weekend.

On Monday, they will being materials and equipment for the repair work to the site.

While the majority of this will arrive by rail, there will be a number of deliveries by road, using large lorries.

That is two carriages that have been removed from the site and three more to go.

The third carriage has been moved in to place and will taken away in the morning.
