Wiltshire Council say they are making sure that all residents have the means to get to their Covid-19 vaccination.

If people are unable to use their own vehicles, get a lift from family or friends or use a taxi, they say there are a number of other options available.

One of these is using one of the link schemes across Wiltshire. which include services in Amesbury, Chalke Valley and Salisbury.

They're run by community groups and have already made over 450 journeys to help people get to their jabs.

You can find out all the details and which one to contact by visiting the Community First website.

If none of these options are available and you are unable to reschedule the appointment to a convenient time, then you should call the Wiltshire Wellbeing Hub.

The team will create a simple transport vaccination form and the day before the journey, one of the council's co-ordinators will contact the resident to ask some key covid questions.

If all is fine they will provide access to a taxi.

For anyone needing this, you should the Wellbeing Hub on 0300 003 4576.

Cllr Bridget Wayman, Cabinet Member for Highways, said:

"We want to make sure that everyone who has been offered an appointment for their vaccine doesn’t miss out.

If people have considered all other options and are having trouble accessing transport to get to their appointments, we urge them to contact our wellbeing hub, who can help arrange transport if required.

The vaccine is our way out of this, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need us."
