Tom Daley battles 40mph winds on epic West Hampshire cycle
Crowds welcomed the Olympic diver as he cycles for charity
Tom Daley has been cycling through West Hampshire today (Wednesday 16th February) as part of a huge multi-sport challenge.
The Olympic champion diver is on day three of his 'Hell of a Homecoming' challenge - running, cycling, swimming and rowing around 300 miles for charity.
Fans came out in droves to cheer Tom on along the route as he faced 40mph winds head on since 6.00am as he set out in Southampton.
The route took Tom through areas including Fordingbridge, Alderholt and Godshill today, before he moved on to Dorset.
All that cycling comes before a 30 mile run from Dartmoor to his hometown of Plymouth tomorrow (Thursday 17th February).
Greatest Hits Radio reporter George Sharpe spotted Tom in a few places as he travelled through Dorset earlier:
Tom stopped for a break in Winterborne Abbas at the Coach House Inn where George was able to film him coming in, and even got a wave.
In an interview with Greatest Hits Radio, Tom Daley said:
"The wind has been absolutely atrocious. Going up some hills, you think you're pedalling as hard as you can and you're going like 4mph so it does take it out of you.
"It's going to be a long haul to the next pit stop but we've got to just keep going.
"I've driven through Dorset lots of times but never really stopped and stayed here but actually being able to cycle through it you get to see everything. It's just been so lovely.
"It's just been so lovely and also people coming out supporting has just been incredible.
Before leaving, the diver made sure to thank all of his fans for their support.
