Wiltshire Specials were out on patrol on Saturday night (6th February) in the Nomansland area.

They found a car parked up, with the group drawing attention to themselves by lighting a fire.

Three men in the car - two aged 20 and one aged 22, and all from different addresses in Hampshire, were spoken to by officers.

They initially denied they were involved with the fire, until police pointed out the sack of logs that was next to their car.

A smell of cannabis was also detected, and the men were searched.

All three were arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug, with the driver of the car also failing a drug wipe.

Salisbury Police Inspector Pete Sparrow said:

"This was a great example of the worth of the Special Constabulary; volunteers from the community, supporting the needs of the community. There is no excuse for driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs and we will pursue all offences, including breaches of Covid regulations where appropriate."
