Covid-19 testing centre in Salisbury closed

Work has been going on to remove things from the site

Wiltshire Council have confirmed that the Covid-19 testing centre at the Beehive Park and Ride site in Salisbury has been closed.

It's been stood down in line with the Government's position on universal testing being stopped at the start of this month.

Lorries and vans have been seen taking things away from the site, as part of the demobilisation process.

As of April 1st, the Government is not providing free testing for the general public, expect NHS and social care staff.

The testing centre has been cleared from the Beehive P&R site for nearly two months now

Most people are also being advised to no longer get tested.

Anyone who had symptoms and still wants to test can buy them from some pharmacies and retailers.

LATEST COVID CASES NUMBERS

In the seven days to 2nd April, there have been 4,426 positive cases in Wiltshire.

That's a decrease of 2,119 on the previous week.

This means the county's rolling rate per 100,000 population is at 878.1.

The national average is 677.5.
