Two teenagers have been charged in connection with the theft of a car from Shrewton.

A Jaguar has been reported as stolen on Bank Holiday Monday morning (26th August), and was driven through Westbury.

Police eventually stopped the vehicle on the A350, after the tyres were successfully deflated.

A 16 year old boy from Devizes has now been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop a vehicle for police, aggravated vehicle taking, driving without insurance or a licence, and making off without payment.

The teenager, who can't be named for legal reasons, has been remanded in custody to appear before Swindon Magistrates today (Wednesday 28th August).

A 15 year old boy, also from Devizes, was initially taken to Salisbury District Hospital for injuries sustained when the vehicle crashed.

He was later taken into police custody and has now been charged with aggravated vehicle taking.

He'll appear in court at the next available opportunity.
