Teenager charged with possessing imitation firearm in Downton

18 year old James Willett from Whaddon is also charged with drug supply

A teenager's been charged with possession an imitation firearm, following an incident at a Downton caravan site.

Wiltshire Police attended the Lode Hill site on April 21st, after reports of a man with a gun.

Now 18 year old James Willett, of Southampton Road in Whaddon, has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm in a public place.

He's also charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession of a Class B drug.

He's appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court and been remanded in custody.

Detective Inspector Matt Smith said:

"People may have been aware of police activity in the area of Lode Hill when the arrest was made. I want to reassure the local community that this was an isolated incident."
