Teenager arrested following large fight in Amesbury

The 17-year-old has been questioned on suspicion of GBH and affray, and released on bail as enquiries continue

A teenager's been arrested following a large fight in Amesbury.

Wiltshire Police were called to reports of disorder on Boscombe Down Road at approximately 10pm on Saturday.

A man sustained head and shoulder injuries during the incident.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of GBH and affray.

He's been released on conditional bail as enquiries continue.

Inspector Russell Griffin said:

"We understand this incident would have caused concern in the local community – please be reassured that an arrest has been made and we are continuing with our investigation today.

"Local neighbourhood officers will be carrying out patrols in the area – if you have concerns or would like to report anything related to this specific disorder, please do approach them."
