A brand new restaurant and drive thru could be coming to Amesbury.

Taco Bell have submitted an application to Wiltshire Council, which says they want to:

"Fit-out of developers shell to provide new drive thru hot food restaurant comprising of dining area, customer toilets, kitchen storage walk in chillers & staff welfare areas"

The restaurant would be located at Solstice Park.

It was submitted to the local authority on the 18th January, however no files have been attached with extra details.

No decision date has been set either.

WHAT IS TACO BELL?

Taco Bell is an American-based food chain, which opened it's first restaurant in 1962 in California.

They have since expanded to the UK and in Europe, with 93 venues open across the UK so far.

They say mostly sell Mexican style food, for example burritos and, as it says in the name, tacos.

There is currently one open in Wiltshire, on Regent Street in Swindon, with others in Southampton.

You can read the planning application by going to the Wiltshire Council website.

In response, Taco Bell UK told Greatest Hits Radio Salisbury:

"Unfortunately, we don’t have anything we can share just now, but we are opening lots of new restaurants so hopefully there will be something new soon."
