Sword stolen from historical Longleat House statue
It's been taken from the Sir Jeffery Hudson statue in the secret gardens
A lead sword has been stolen from the grounds of Longleat House.
It's been snatched from the Sir Jeffrey Hudson statue in the secret gardens and is in scabbard about a foot in length.
Hudson served as a prominent member of Queen Henrietta Maria's court in the 17th century, with the stone statue a depiction of Hudson in his court attire.
It's believed to have happened at some point between 9 May 2025 and 5 August 2025.
Police are appealing for information, saying the item is of historical value.
