A suspected cannabis factory has been found in an industrial at Amesbury's Solstice Park.

Officers carried out a warrant at a unit on the Beacon Centre this morning (Thursday 17th November).

Around 500 plants, in various stages of cultivation, were discovered on the site.

A man in his 30s, and a teenage boy, who were at the premises, have been arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis, and being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.

They are currently in police custody.

Hundreds of suspected cannabis plants were found in Amesbury earlier today (17th November)

A crew from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended in support to ensure the safety of officers attending the scene.

It's expected that police will remain on the scene until at least tomorrow, to gather evidence and make sure the area is safe.

Inspector Tina Osborn said:

“This was an excellent example of teamwork in response to information supplied by members of the public. It appears that a significant quantity of Class B drugs have been cultivated at this location which will now be removed from circulation.

“Drugs blight our communities and cultivation, and dealing is linked to exploitation of vulnerable people and other crimes. We rely on members of the community to act as our eyes and ears. We would urge anyone with concerns about possible drug dealing to report it to us as a priority.”

We're asked to continue reporting suspected drug activity to police on 101, or via their website.
