A former England rugby sevens player is to take on a 'pilgrimage' walk to Stonehenge, to coincide with the Summer Solstice on Friday morning (21st June).

Andy Dawling, who played for Gloucester and Harlequins during his career, and is currently the kit man for Saracens, will trek ten miles from The Ship pub at Upavon to the stone circle.

Andy's also an Army veteran who served in Kosovo and is raising money for the Wilton based charity, The Halo Trust, which works to clear landmines from areas of the world affected by conflicts.

This week marks the 25th anniversary of fighting ending in the Eastern European country, but also a quarter of a century since Lieutenant Gareth Evans, Staff Sergeant Balaram Rai, and three Kosovar locals were killed while clearing a school site, to ensure the safety of returning refugees.

Andy's pilgrimage in South Wiltshire is part of a much larger trek across the country for the charity.
