Stonehenge named in England's top five attractions
The historical site joins the likes of Kew Gardens and the British Museum in a list of the UK's favourite places.
It's no surprise to locals that Stonehenge is popular - we've all seen the queues on the A303!
But, according to the National Lottery, it's the fifth top attraction in England - and in the top ten of 'happy places' in the UK.
Topping the attractions list was Kew Gardens, followed by the Eden Project, Natural History Museum, and the British Museum.
The study, by the National Lottery, of 2,000 adults also revealed:
- Eight in 10 (81%) have missed their ‘happy place’ during lockdown
- Just under half (48%) have developed a greater appreciation of the UK’s attractions because of the pandemic
- Over half (57%) intend to visit their happy place at the earliest possible opportunity
