The ancient stone circle is the 8th most popular site on social media, and ranks the highest of the places outside of London.
The rundown comes from a study by online casinos comparison service, Casino Alpha, looking at how many times a location had been hashtagged in posts.
Here's the full top 10:
- Big Ben - 3,553,720 posts
- London Eye - 3,529,518 hashtags

In a citation about why Stonehenge might have ranked so well, it says:
"The origins of the historical landmark, a prehistoric structure forming a circle of standing stones, are debated. While some believe it was built as a Druid temple, others think it may be a burial monument."
A spokesperson for Casino Alpha said:
“It’s interesting to see which tourist attractions in the UK are the most Instagrammable. With social media playing a significant role in today’s society, many tourists will think about the potential Instagram content they can get while visiting an attraction.
“This is especially true for influencers who may even prioritise the attractions with the best backdrops and settings for taking pictures when deciding which ones to visit.
“London is a top destination to visit in the UK if this is the goal, as most of the tourist attractions in the top 10 are located there.”
