A Salisbury drop off point for 'Recycle for Wiltshire Air Ambulance' is out of action after thieves stole pallets from there.

Four were taken from the recycling area of Tesco Extra on Southampton Road.

Drop offs have been stopped until teracycle can send some replacements. Recyclers are asked not to use it until further notice.

£500 LOST

The pallets are used to fill Tassimo & L'or Coffee Pods which are turned in to money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Nearly £500 of donations has been lost as two of the pallets of pods were emptied all over the car park.

Organisers of the scheme Sam Peters and Lesa Snook are devastated, they said:

"These are heavy pallets and would have needed several people to remove and the noise of emptying the pods onto the ground would have made considerable noise!"

Thankfully the staff at the Tesco cleared the pods and have kept them until there are new pallets.

The community are in full support of Sam and Lesa as they shared the news on Facebook.

One comment read: "I can't believe it! So sorry you have to deal with this. Hope the police can make some headway, can't understand what they'd use it for.

While another said: "What is it with people!!??? Really nasty!"

It has been reported to Wiltshire Police, who are investigating, anyone with information about the theft is being asked to come forward.
